We were able to make this a 3 part project. First we ripped up the paper while going over our colors, then we did the stained glass, then we glued the pieces to the picture of our tree when they dried and fell off of the window.

For this project, you rip up construction paper, dip it in a bowl of water, and stick it to the window.
We took our time while ripping up and cutting the paper. We actually made it an entire event of it. We sat at his little table together and he picked out which paper we were going to do next, and I went over his colors with him.
So easy, and when the paper dries, it just falls off of the window and can be re-used for future stained glass, or other projects. This faux stained glass actually turns out to be beautiful, but be sure to put a towel at the bottom of the window, and under the water bowl. There is a chance that the water that runs down the window could have some of the ink from the paper in it. Unless you want a tie dye look on your window trim, I'd do a test piece first, or just put a towel down. Noah was really interested in the bowl of water, he eventually spilled it everywhere, but that's part of the "fun." Obviously, you don't need much water, I used a small flat Tupperware container, so cleanup wasn't a big deal.
Noah puts EVERYTHING in his mouth right now, and he kept eating the paper, which I guess isn't that big of a deal, but I figured, "why not take this to a whole new level?" We brought down a few of his foam letters from the bathtub and stuck them to the window as well. They are these awesome soft letters that stick to pretty much everything when they're wet, and he chews on them all the time. It was the perfect opportunity to go over colors and letters.
Noah is going to be a big brother in March. So I drew a picture of our future family and the trunk of a tree. We used a paintbrush to glue the dried papers to the top of our picture to form the leaves on the tree. I absolutely love how it turned out.
