Trying to make “grownup” decisions now, we decided against an outdoor adventure, opting to check out the view from the nursery. In a race against a content baby we opened the nursery door and ran in to open the curtains revealing a beautiful blanket of white. Standing next to each other at the window, my husband says all movie like; “look at it,” at about that time the smell of the diaper pail hit us both. Our moment went from gazing out the window into the wintery wonderland “look at it,” to both of us grabbing our noses, squinching our faces, and yelling “aghhh smell it!” Both disgusted and amused we grabbed the trashcan and ran to get it out of the house. As funny of a memory my husband and I will forever have from it, I can’t believe that something so adorable can produce something so absolutely horrid!
People say your lives change when you have a baby, we knew this, but we had NO idea how much. Our world is now so drastically different that we can’t help but to “roll with the punches." When things are different, you need to change and adjust, but the kid is only nine weeks old and we don’t even remember the “pre-baby” us anymore. We laugh about our past, present, and future, and so far they feel like different lifetimes. We’re having the time of our lives, and we’re falling in love all over again. We’re experiencing the amazing journey of raising our child together and there’s no one else in this world that I could imagine sharing this with. I’m sure you've heard about the “Snowmageddon” or whatever clever nickname the news anchors in your area came up with; you know, the 3 inches of snow that shut down the state of Georgia…twice? Images of highways scattered with abandoned vehicles were compared to the set of the show walking dead, even Saturday Night Live, did a skit making fun of us. It was hilarious. Needless to say, snow is a big deal here in the ole G-A. Trying to make “grownup” decisions now, we decided against an outdoor adventure, opting to check out the view from the nursery. Kandice SwearingainI am the proud Mommy of 2 under 2, a wife, and an artist. My son has loved coloring, painting and drawing since he could hold/eat a marker. My daughter LOVES watching from her bouncy seat and will be getting messy with us in the very near future. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom, and be able to play with, create with and teach the littles. Categories
